Low Key Comics rocks Charlotte!
Hey all, we're going to be heading to Charlotte this year for the annual Heroes Convention, and we'll come bearing all kinds of cool stuff. Everyman #2 and the hilarious sketch diary Journal Sanders will be there, hot off the presses, but we have something even cooler in the offing: a free, limited edition minicomic. How do you get one, you ask? By attending a kick-ass rock concert!
Full details on the concert, and the new books we'll have to show follow here. We'll be at booth SP-06, hope to see you there!

Low Key Comics rocks Charlotte!
Indie rock showcase comes with a free, limited edition minicomic in conjunction with Heroes Convention 2008.
Low Key Comics, an independent publisher known for high quality comic books across a wide gamut of styles and genres, is celebrating this year’s Heroes Convention in genuine hipster style. In conjunction with their appearance at this year’s edition of the annual comics convention, Low Key Comics is releasing Snug Comics #1, a special limited edition minicomic available exclusively at a concert showcasing local and regional indie rock bands taking place in Charlotte, NC, on June 21st, the Saturday night of the Heroes Convention weekend.
The show takes place at the venerable Charlotte rock club Snug Harbor, located at 1228 Gordon St., just 2 miles from the Charlotte Convention Center. Headlining the show will be local math rock favorites Calabi Yau, with support from fellow Charlotte bands The Lights, Fluorescent and Battle Beasts and Rock Hill, South Carolina’s Young Tom Fury.
The first 200 through the door of the show will receive a numbered, limited edition minicomic created specially for the show. The 24-page full-length minicomic features 20 pages of exclusive content not available anywhere else, plus a 4-page preview of Juan Ruvalcaba’s tongue-in-cheek sketchdiary Journal Sanders: Kentucky Fried Sketchbook, which is premiering at the convention. Other contributors are Chris Gervais (singer/guitarist for Young Tom Fury), Paul Little (artist, Downhill From Here; colorist, Image Comics/Shadowline’s Bomb Queen), Jason Green (writer/editor, Low Key Comics), and Justin Crouse (writer/artist, Everyman), who also supplies the book’s cover.
Be sure to visit Low Key Comics on the convention floor at booth SP-06—just a few short steps from the concession stand!—to check out the latest Low Key has to offer.
See below for full details of the Snug Comics showcase show as well as the titles Low Key will be debuting at the show, and see the attached jpeg for a copy of the show flyer. For more information, contact lowkeycomics[at]gmail.com or visit www.lowkeycomics.com.

Low Key Comics Heroes Convention Premieres:
Everyman #2: Justin Crouse’s satiric look at superheroes continues when James Johnson, our garbageman-turned-superhero, tries to turn his luck around by using his newfound powers for fun and profit…but first, he’ll have to tangle with the town’s protector, Titan. Check out the book that PLAYBACK:stl’s Byron Kerman says is “not just LOL-funny…it’s gloriously subversive.”
Journal Sanders: Kentucky Fried Sketchbook vol. 1: Juan Ruvalcaba left behind his hometown of Chicago for a career in Hollywood, and this daily sketch-diary is the result. This first 100-page collection is a look at a Spring packed with the pangs of Hollywood corporate politics and general boredom in the big city. Think American Elf for the sarcasm generation.
ABOUT LOW KEY COMICS: Originally founded by Kyle Morton in 1997, Low Key Comics (www.lowkeycomics.com) emerged as an independent publisher of comic books in 2005 with the release of the anthology LOW KEY COMICS #1. Now on sale: EVERYMAN #1
It's been a long time in the making but now, finally, Justin B. Crouse's EVERYMAN #1 is on sale! You got a gander at Everyman in the debut issue of LOW KEY COMICS....now you can read the everyday hero's origin in this debut issue, available right now at IndyPlanet.com, and soon to be available in our network of indy comic shops starting in December.
James Johnson is a shadow of his former self. Once a promising high school baseball star, his life has degraded into a dismal routine of work and subservience. Now a garbage man with a domineering wife, ungrateful son, and cantankerous father-in-law, James accidentally discovers his latent super powers.
Part Married...with Children, part American Beauty, the naturalism of 60s Marvel with an underground sensibility. EVERYMAN is a super hero satire with a little something for everyone...except maybe kids.

Low Key art featured in Image Comics!
Some of you may recall that about a year ago, Downhill From Here artist Paul John Little's art popped up in an issue of Robert Kirkman and Ryan Ottley's Invincible. Well, that pin-up has a new neighbor, as Paul has done it once again: his drawing of Editor Girl (the alter ego of Shadowline editor Kris Simon) will be featured in all books from Jim Valentino's Image imprint shipping this August! Click here for a look at the Kris' Korner banner, featuring Paul's snazzy artwork.
So keep an eye out for Paul's art in Hiding in Time #2, Jimmie Robinson's Bomb Queen IV #1, and Fernanda Chiella's outrageously cool-looking In Her Darkest Hour!
And I'm sure you're all wondering what's up with your favorite Low Key Comics? Well, let me assure you, despite the lack of new books, we aren't dead yet! Downhill From Here #2 is drawn, inked, and about 75% colored, and should be in your hot little hands momentarily, and we're well into the inking stages on The Last Days of El Rey #2 and the hotly anticipated Everyman #1. Check back here for updates, and be sure to friend us on MySpace or ComicSpace to get the news as it happens!

Be our friend!
You may or may not have heard of ComicSpace, but if you haven't, you'll be hearing a lot more soon. It's a social networking site a la MySpace, but with a focus on comics (as opposed to MySpace, whose focus would be band indie bands and webcam chicks, I guess). Well, we've set up shop over there as well as our MySpace page, which has recently been updated with a look at a brand new art style for the still upcoming (we swear!) Trio #1. So take a gander and be our friend so that you can stay updated on all things Low Key!

Downhill From Here!
Downhill From Here #1 is back from the printers and it's a doozie! It's LKC's first foray into stunning FULL COLOR, but I won't let my words get in the way when I can just show you. Head on over to our brand new MySpace page at www.myspace.com/lowkeycomics and check our first blog entry for a gander at one page from each of the book's 4 stories. It's great looking stuff you're bound to like.
Be sure to add us to your friends list to get updates on any and all new LKC titles, and if you like what you see, shoot us an e-mail at lowkeycomics[at]gmail.com so we can get some comics in your hot little hands.

We're back!
Thanks to everyone who stopped by our table at Artist's Alley in Chicago and decided to give our books a try! We hope you enjoyed them, and we'd like to know what you think so be sure to stop by our forums, 'k?
And for those of you who stopped by over the last few days, you may have noticed something that was most definitely not our website. No worries, though...that was a temporary bit of confusion between web hosts that has been resolved. Rest assured that Low Key Comics is not going anywhere!
Wizard World Chicago '06 marked the debut of Low Key Comics #2, but don't worry if you couldn't make it: the issue is now available from the fine folks at IndyPlanet.com! To order, simply click here.
On the cover this issue is "Monkey Bars," a sweet slice-of-life story featuring a group of childhood friends and a certain piece of playground equipment. Next up, pulp action hero Doc Hyperion and his crew run into trouble on a strange alien planet in "The Lost Continent of Monsters". And finally, fantasy hero Shard stumbles across a mysterious passageway in "Magicals: The Door To Nowhere."
Check it out...you'll be glad you did.
