Wednesdays from 5pm -6pm. $150

This class is designed for anyone who wants to enhance their drawing ability. Whether it be for drawing comics and manga, or drafting and engineering, this class will enhance your drawing ability.

The layout of the syllabus will start with simple observation and technical skill building, and by the end of the class you will be able to use a ruler, vanishing points and horizon lines to create a realistic 3D space.

The recommended age for this class is 14 and up.

Day 1: Intro to Drawing: Using line and value to create shadows - We begin with practicing drawing simple 3D shapes free hand, and then learning multiple methods for shading. Hatching, Cross hatching and blending.

Day 2 Drawing from memory vs. references:

We begin with a fun drawing game meant to test your skills of observation.

We learn how to use a viewfinder to frame the still life to create a desirable composition by drawing a simple still life.

Day 3: Dynamic 3D shapes- Today we unlock the secrets of the square and how to utilize it to create and understand perspective. This will also focus in on using different drawing tools to create more precise drawings.

Day 4 . Perspective - Using one point perspective to create more dynamic and accurate 3D shapes. Square, rectangle, sphere, cone, cylinder.

Day 5: Creating a landscape - using perspective

Day 6: Drawing a room. Starting an interior room using 1 pt. perspective. We will work together to create the basic layout of a simple square room.

Day 7: Finishing a room. Students will use what they’ve learned to customize their own room. I will be giving 1 on 1 help to facilitate this objective. It can be tricky.

Day 8: 2 Pt. Perspective - We add another vanishing point and create a city street corner. We will lay out the basics to start and then students will be able to expand on their own.

Day 9: 2 Pt. Perspective- finish cityscape - This may also be challenging so today will be a day to get more support, or to go nuts adding more and more details.
